How Eaakha started
The affix Eaakha started in the 1970's by Kevin Henry & Elizabeth Anne Amey, the affix is a play on Kevin & Liz's Initials. Over the years Kevin & Liz have owned many Gundogs. The Kennel has included working Labradors, Cockers, Golden Retriever a dual Purpose Italian Spinone & dual purpose Sussex Spaniels. In 2007 Eaakha introduced a Portuguese Pointer to the Kennel from the Brittyhill affix. The Kennel Is both Show & Working.
About Us
The Eaakha affix belongs to a Mum, Dad & Daughter from West Sussex, England. Kevin, Liz & Kate Amey have an active interest in Showing & Working of Sussex Spaniels, Working Labradors & their first Portuguese Pointer. In the Shooting season Kevin works his Gundogs up to three times a week on local shoots in West Sussex. Liz & Kate have shown the Sussex Spaniels through out the year at Open & Championship Shows since 1996.
Liz is on the Sussex Spaniel Association (UK) Committee & Kate has started her Judging career in Sussex. In the early 1990's Liz & Kate became hooked on the show scene with Brinny the Italian Spinone and Max the Golden Retriever, while Kevin's true love was the working side. After docking was banned in the United Kingdom they decided to find another breed for its working ability that was dual purpose and were lucky enough to come across the Portuguese Pointer at Ring craft.
Luna's training is going well and is a very promising Gundog. Once Luna's training is complete she will be joining Kevin on Shoot days.
Breeding
On the rare occasion when we do decide to breed its because we want to add a new addition to our Kennel, over the years we have had Labrador & Sussex Spaniel litters. All our Labradors are Hip scored & Eye tested. In the not too distant future Luna will have her hips scored and be eye tested as we wish to breed from her & increase the number of this breed in the UK.
